Legal aid for legal advice in connection with family mediation

Many people are now starting to realise that legal aid for divorce and other family work is now very limited, meaning many people are no longer able to get legal aid to sort out a dispute on divorce/separation involving property/finances.  What many people do not realise is that you can still get legal aid from a solicitor for advice in connection with family mediation.
Where agreement is reached through family mediation on finance issues a solicitor can provide legal aid to clients who are financially eligible for legal help in relation to the drafting and the issuing of proceedings (the divorce) to obtain a consent order, which is approved by the court to settle financial. This means you may still be able to get legal aid if you settle your case during mediation.  Call our Kerry Davies for more information on 01534 39760.
