Criminal Defence - 24 Hour Service

Clarkson Hirst has a dedicated Criminal Law Team at Lancaster, Kendal and Barrow offices. The team are experienced in dealing with the full range of criminal matters from the Police Station and Magistrates Court through to the Court of Appeal.

If you have been charged with an offence or under investigation by the Police then we can help you with expert advice and with access to a whole range of forensic expert advice. If you are arrested or have to attend at the police station voluntarily then we will be able to arrange free legal advice from one of our Criminal Law specialists. We are able to offer you this advice as we hold a Specialist Legal Services Commission Franchise.

If you should be unfortunate to find yourself at the police station or under investigation, please remember that it is your right to have access to free legal advice. If you ask the Police to speak to a solicitor from Clarkson Hirst Solicitors they will be able to contact the firm 24 hours a day and one of our specialist advisors will attend upon you whilst you are at the police station.

We can also help you with specialist legal advice whilst you are under investigation. Usually this advice will be free. Please contact us and we will be able to offer you the best advice on what you should do to either obtain free legal advice, or to pursue alternatives if you are not eligible for free legal advice.

If you are charged with an offence and bailed to appear before the Magistrates Court please contact us immediately we will be able to assist you in making an application for “Legal Aid” and we will be able to guide you through the application procedure and advise you on the strength of the case against you.

This firm holds a Very High Cost Case Contract (VHCC) this means that we can represent you when a trial is likely to last 25 days or more.
